Is the Bible as violent as the Koran? The answer is YES, if you talk to many Muslims and Liberals. But are they really? The following is a short discussion I had with a liberal about the subject. I hope to show you that they are not and that all non-Muslims should be uniting and working against Islam, not only because it is an institution that is a Human Rights nightmare, but because Islam really does have the submission of the whole world to Islam as it’s goal.
When you bring up the Koran or Hadith, many scream context context context,, claiming that if read in their proper context, they really don’t say what they say – so it’s all good, just relax.
Dr. Mark Durie (author of The Third Choice) confronts this misconception in his article,, A Dozen Bad Ideas for the 21st Century and says “8. The belief that putting something in context will always produce a more innocuous interpretation. This is not true. Attending properly to context can make a text even more offensive than it would otherwise have been. Conversely, if you take something out of context you may regard it more positively than you ought to. In reality, radical interpretations of the Qur’an, such as are used to support terrorism, almost always involve an appeal to a rich understanding of the context in which the Qur’an was revealed, including the life of Muhammad. On the other hand, many have taken peaceful verses of the Qur’an out of context, in order to prove that Islam is a peaceful religion”.
I think my responses in the exchange below do a fairly good job of showing that if put in their proper context, the Bible does not say what many who wish to obfuscate with false moral equivalences want it to say, and the Koran says and means exactly what many people fervently hope and pray that it does not really say and mean. For many, the obvious, when looking into the context, is just too much to bear – so we have a generation with their heads in the sand.
SOME PREFACING
I have been spending much of my time at Eric Allen Bells’ Facebook page and new website for the past month or so. You may not know him yet, but he is a liberal film maker and writer who had a drastic change of view about Islam, and much of everything else, as a result of doing a documentary on the mega-mosque in Murfreesboro Tennessee. For Eric, the impetus to look at Islam again was a conversation he had with a Christian Coptic Cab driver in which the driver disagreed with him that the changes happening in Egypt are a good thing. The driver told him a regime change would be fatal to his family back home. For me the impetus was the responce of Muslims and non-Muslims, around the world and online, to Pastor Terry Jones’s Burn A Koran Day almost two years ago (you can read my short testimony about it in the sidebar). To get people up to speed on Eric’s amazing story, I usually give them this article called The High Price of Telling The truth About Islam You can see the amazing work he has done on exposing and opposing the mosque in Tennessee (since his change of mind) here, that has resulted in him quickly becoming a big player in the counter-jihad movement and him being featured on Fox News in the past and twice in the last few days.
As a result of these Fox News appearances, the leftist online media is featuring the recent videos also because Eric is very blunt and right on in his assertions about Islam, most specifically that Islam is “the worst, most deadly idea in the history of the world”. Those two videos are posted here (at media matters – the site my exchange is on). I think all three videos are a must see as rarely have such truths about Islam been spoken freely on any mainstream media. Eric has been studying Islam now for about 2 years and he knows his stuff and is very articulate.

Crusade Myths by Thomas F. Madden
Posted by: | CommentsThe Crusades are much in the news of late. President Bush made the mistake of referring to the war against terrorism as a “crusade” and was roundly criticized for uttering a word both offensive and hurtful to the world’s Muslims. If it is painful, then it is remarkable indeed how often the Arabs themselves make use of the word. Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar have repeatedly referred to Americans as “crusaders” and the present war as a “crusade against Islam.” For decades now Americans have been routinely referred to as “crusaders” or “cowboys” among Arabs in the Middle East. Clearly the crusades are very much alive in the Muslim world.
They are not forgotten in the West either. Actually, despite the many differences between the East and West, most people in both cultures are in agreement about the Crusades. It is commonly accepted that the Crusades are a black mark on the history of Western civilization generally and the Catholic Church in particular. Anyone eager to bash Catholics will not long tarry before brandishing the Crusades and the Inquisition. The Crusades are often used as a classic example of the evil that organized religion can do. Your average man on the street in both New York and Cairo would agree that the Crusades were an insidious, cynical, and unprovoked attack by religious zealots against a peaceful, prosperous, and sophisticated Muslim world.
It was not always so. During the Middle Ages you could not find a Christian in Europe who did not believe that the Crusades were an act of highest good. Even the Muslims respected the ideals of the Crusades and the piety of the men who fought them. But that all changed with the Protestant Reformation. For Martin Luther, who had already jettisoned the Christian doctrines of papal authority and indulgences, the Crusades were nothing more than a ploy by a power-hungry papacy. Indeed, he argued that to fight the Muslims was to fight Christ himself, for it was he who had sent the Turks to punish Christendom for its faithlessness. When Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and his armies began to invade Austria, Luther changed his mind about the need to fight, but he stuck to his condemnation of the Crusades. During the next two centuries people tended to view the Crusades through a confessional lens: Protestants demonized them, Catholics extolled them. As for Suleiman and his successors, they were just glad to be rid of them.

VIDEO: How Islamic Atrocities Provoked the Christian Crusades
Posted by: | CommentsThis video discusses the Islamic violence against Eastern Christians in the Syrian region during the Middle Ages, and how it provoked the Crusades as a defensive response. The idea that the Crusades were an unprovoked act of violence against Islamic civilization is simply nonsense and not historical. This video makes use of several important medieval primary sources from the Middle East, including Aristakes’ 11th Century Armenian History, and the Chronicle of Michael the Syrian.

VIDEO DOCUMENTARY: Islam – What the West Needs to Know

ISLAM – What the West Needs to Know
An examination of Islam, violence, and the fate of the non-Muslim world.
(98 mins)
Main Idea.
Virtually every major Western leader has over the past several years expressed the view that Islam is a peaceful religion and that those who commit violence in its name are fanatics who misinterpret its tenets. This claim, while widely circulated, rarely attracts serious public examination. Relying primarily on Islam’s own sources, this documentary demonstrates that Islam is a violent, expansionary ideology that seeks the destruction or subjugation of other faiths, cultures, and systems of government.
Content.
The documentary consists of original interviews, citations from Islamic texts, Islamic artwork, computer-animated maps, footage of Western leaders, and Islamic television broadcasts. Its tone is sober, methodical, and compelling.
Outline of the Documentary.
Introduction.
We hear from prominent Western leaders that Islam is peaceful and that those who commit violence in its name are heterodox fanatics.
Part 1: ‘There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet’
Our interviewees affirm their belief that Islamic violence is entirely orthodox behavior for Muslims and stems directly from the teachings and example of the Prophet Muhammad and the commands of the Koran. We learn that the example of Muhammad is one of a violent warlord who killed numerous people. The Koran — the verbatim words of Allah — prescribes violence against non-Muslims and Muhammad is the perfect example of the Koran in action.
Part 2: The Struggle
We learn that jihad, while literally meaning ‘struggle’, in fact denotes war fought against non-Muslims in order to bring the rule of Islamic law to the world. Violent death in jihad is, according to the Koran, the only assurance of salvation. One of our interviewees tells of his personal involvement in terrorism and his leaving Islam.
Part 3: Expansion
Following the death of Muhammad, his ‘rightly-guided’ successors carried his wars to three continents, fighting, enslaving, and massacring countless Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, Hindus, and others. Islam did not spread through evangelism or through its natural appeal, but through aggressive wars of conquest. The Crusades were largely a belated response on the part of Christian Europe to rescue Christians in the Holy Land suffering under Muslim oppression. The Muslim world today, while no longer the unified empire of the Caliphs, is exceptional for being responsible for the vast majority of conflicts around the world and for almost all of international terrorism.
Part 4: ‘War is Deceit’
A great problem with Western efforts to understand Islam is due to the Islamic principle of ‘religious deception’, which enjoins Muslims to deceive non-Muslims in order to advance the cause of Islam. Muslim groups today in the West employ deception and omission to give the impression that ‘Islam is a religion of peace’, an utter fiction.
Part 5: More than a Religion
The most important characteristic of Islam not understood by the West is that it is more a system of government than a personal religion. Throughout its history, Islam has never recognized a distinction between the religious and the secular/political. Islamic law governs every aspect of religious, political, and personal action, which amounts to a form of totalitarianism that is divinely enjoined to dominate the world, analogous in many ways to Communism.
Part 6: The House of War
Islamic theology divides the world into two spheres locked in perpetual combat, dar al-Islam (House of Islam – where Islamic law predominates), and dar al-harb (House of War – the rest of the world). It is incumbent on dar al-Islam to fight and conquer dar al-harb and permanently assimilate it. Muslims in Western nations are called to subvert the secular regimes in which they now live in accordance with Allah’s command. Due to political correctness and general government and media irresponsibility, the danger posed by observant Muslims in the West remains largely unappreciated.

BEST HISTORY OF ISLAM DOCUMENTARY: JIHAD – FROM Mecca to WW2
Posted by: | Comments
How did the world get from just Mohammad to well over 1 billion Muslims in the world? This is the question every Westerner should have to answer. These videos and additional references will help you do that.
I found these videos on youtube and posted them awhile back. You can find them and many other very important post on this blog in the Non-Revisionist History catagory. The videos are from the Documentary “Farewell Israel: Bush, Iran and the Revolt of Islam” and I feel they are the best presentation of the history of Islam I have seen yet. The videos are not posted in any specific sequence at the youtube channel that uploaded them. I feel these videos are so important that I downloaded them, put them in their proper order, renamed them and uploaded them to this blogs YouTube Channel. I also have them backed up and will be self hosting the videos soon. THEY ARE THAT IMPORTANT.
Here is a Review of the documentary from Amazon.
“By a wide margin, the best video documentary about political Islam.
It contains the most historically accurate depiction of the legal and political side of Islam that I have seen in video form. By not employing taqiyya as Muslims want to do when talking with Westerners, it carefully shows Islamic thinking with respect to Jews, Christians and other infidels. It shows the special tradeoffs of dihimmi status and the peace that is available under Dar al-Islam.
Gilbert does a remarkable job of selecting pieces of Islam’s historical record to give the viewer an excellent appreciation for the thinking of Muslims about their relationship to god and their earthly duties and opportunities.
He generally presents accurate information and lets the viewer form his own opinion and recommended course of action. One possible exception is the authors implication that if Israel had not been formed, and had Bush not invaded the Middle East in retaliation for 9/11, the coming war could have been avoided.
This film does an excellent job of showing how the enemy thinks (and it’s not just the few folks who are fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq).
I was blown away by the quality and quantity of information about political Islam contained in this 2.5 hour video. Joel Gilbert has produced by far the best video documentary on the topic of Jihad and Islam I have ever seen. It is probably about too serious and sensitive a topic to receive a well deserved award for the best documentary of 2007. I would not trade it for a half dozen of the books on fundamentalist Islam that I have read.
Every American and everyone else in Dar al Harb needs to see this film to appreciate the seriousness and duration of the battles we are now fighting.”
These videos are less than 1 1/2 hrs of the 2 1/2 hrs of the full video, and I have intentionally left out two videos that are posted on the Youtube channel that first uploaded them because I do not agree with the documentaries main thesis that Israel will soon be annihilated in a coming war. As a result the last video ends kinda leaving you hanging. I for sure believe a war is coming but I think Israel will prevail and will win the war that will result in expanded territory and a safety buffer zone to the present Nation of Israel. Some of the posting here in the next couple of weeks will explore this possibility and will show what many in the study of end times are saying about this issue.
Here is the editorial review of Farewell Israel: Bush, Iran and the Revolt of Islam from the Amazon page.
The confrontation between Islam and the Jews began in the Prophet Muhammads time and continues to this day. Farewell Israel: Bush, Iran and The Revolt of Islam is an historic journey, from the birth of Islam, through its 1,200 year reign over the civilized world, to the last 300 years of Islamic decline, overtaken and dominated by the West – then humiliated by a Jewish state. Islams historic trials with Jews, and its relationship with conquered non-believers, help illustrate the Islamic world view – all through the eyes of Muslims.
In this groundbreaking film, the total rejection of Israel by Muslim states since its inception in 1948 comes to light as a religious duty for Believers. The Islamic roots of Anwar Sadats 1977 Camp David Accords with Israel are exposed as The Diplomatic Strategy Against Israel by which Egypt sought to defeat Israel through diplomacy, rather than establish Western Peace. Israels misunderstanding of Islamic goals and values are highlighted by its enthusiasm for Yasser Arafat and the 1993 Oslo Accords. Next, President George Bushs tragic misunderstanding of 9/11 as a War Against Freedom, in which the United States played into the hands of Al-Qaeda and the Islamist cause by advocating democratic reform across the Middle East, is revealed. Finally, the Iranian strategic agenda for acquiring weapons of mass destruction to eliminate Israel comes clearly into focus.
Today, at the direction of Iran, Islamists are preparing for a fateful coming war for Islam – and Israel is the number one target and obstacle in the path of Islamic revival. Only with the return of Jews to their historic status as Dhimmi or Tributaries, tolerated and protected within Islamic society, can Islamic revival succeed – resulting in Islamic Peace, in the Middle East. Farewell Israel: Bush, Iran and The Revolt of Islam reaches the unavoidable conclusion that Western and Israeli misunderstanding of Islam is leading to a coming war – which will have devastating consequences for the West, and worst of all for Israel – Farewell Israel!
While I feel this is the best video representation of the history of Islam I have seen yet, there are a few things that need correcting and highlighting, I will try to do that as we go along. I believe that if you watch these videos and this other very important video series, you will have a good grasp on the history of Islam. And if you absorb all the info in the links provided, you will be able to give a great 10 minutes summary of how this world got to where it is.
Here are two articles to put the broad context of Jihad into perspective.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
This first video claims that Mohammad was “confused” when he first started receiving his revelations. the fact is the he thought he was demon possessed.
This next video shows that Islam’s neighboring civilizations where the Byzantine and the Persian empires. It should be noted that one reason the Muslims where successful in totally defeating the Persians and eventually successful in defeating the Byzantines (the eastern leg of the Roman Empire) was that the Byzantine and the Persian empires where in a weakened state from fighting each other when Islam exploded onto the scene.
The story of the Persian empire, in my opinion, is one of the strongest evidences that Islam is not a religion of peace and is bent on making all religion the religion of Allah. Persia is modern day Iran and how it became Muslim is very important because it shows the almost total annihilation of the religion Zoroastrianism at the hands of Islam. Zoroastrianism was the official religion of 3 successive Persian Empires and was one of the worlds largest religions when Islam was born but there are now less than 200,000 Zoroastrians in the world and less than 0.1 % of the Iranian population is Zoroastrian. In effect, the subjugation of Zoroastrianism by Islam has almost resulted in its extinction. Today Iranians barely remember that they where once Persian and Zoroastrian. AND THIS IS THE RELIGION OF NO RELIGIOUS COMPULSION?
For more info about Zoroastrianism and Islam see the first video in this other very important video series, this Wikipedia page called the Persecution of Zoroastrians and The History of Jihad Against Persia.
